Surge in stone slate theft hits rural areas
Figures released by NFU Mutual show that claims in the first six months of this year were 33 per cent higher than the whole of 2010.
"Be very wary of anyone selling reclaimed grey stone slates who are not from a reputable company" Says Lee Johnson of Greys Artstone. The enormouse cost of recalimed stone slates is creating a black market which was outlined recently in a feature on the Radio 2, Jeremy Vine Show. One way to beat this crime is to fit Greys Artstone reproduction stone slates, get the look of reclaimed slate but with the quality and versatility of a modern building material and without the worry of it being stolen in the night.

GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Slates) v Aggregate Concrete Slates
Artificial Stone Slates and Artificial Slates are manufactured using two distinct methods - GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) Slates and Aggregate Concrete Slates. The images below show the advantage of using GRC for the manufacture of artificial stone slates. All the slates in our range are GRC and have been successfully tested for durability, colour, strength, fire and freeze thaw. Many of our competitors use traditional concrete, their slates aren’t protected from the elements, which will expose the aggregate.
