Greys Artstone Random Diminishing Conservation Slate is a cost effective alternative to natural slate producing a crafted authentic diminishing roofscape. Available in four colours: New Quarried Westmorland Green, Aged Westmorland Green, New Quarried Welsh Blue/Grey and New Quarried Welsh Heather/Purple.
Our range of Random Diminishing Conservation slate is manufactured to the same exacting standards as our standard slate product.
Each individual slate is hand crafted using moulds taken from slate originals. The fine edge detail and textured surface combines with realistic colouration to create an attractive alternative to natural slate.

The light weight construction of our slates saves on labour and timber costs, approximately 33% with our slate products.
Our slates are constructed from Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC). Construction allows easy cutting without cracking or breaking. Our slates weather like natural slate not concrete, unlike aggregate based concrete products that can show aggregate through their surface due to weathering over time.
In a recent document The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association recommend that for good quality GRC, ductile lifetimes of at least 60-80 years can be confidently expected in UK weather conditions (Source: www.grca.org.uk).
